Arbutin, kojic acid, and liposomal 4-butylresorcinol inhibit the activity of certain enzymes (tyronase) that stimulate release of skin pigment. It also tends to neutralize the damaging free radicals. Glycolic acid exhibits anti-inflammatory, keratolytic, and antioxidant effects. Niacinamide exhibits antipruritic, antimicrobial, sebostatic (sebum inhibiting), vasoactive, photo-protective, and lightening effects.
